I spoke with mom for about 30 minutes on the phone tonight, that was a record! She was waiting to go for her shower, so was feeling pretty chatty. I encouraged her to continue to speak up to the doctors and staff there to let them know what she needs and expects, she wants to work hard and not have alot of meds that make her late or keep her from rehab. She is taking the anti-anxiety meds when needed, and is recognizing the anxiety attacks when they start to come on.
It was a nice visiting time with her, she is hanging in there and is trying to be upbeat about her progress. For some reason she thinks this facility is not as updated as Cardinal Hill would have been, I am not sure where that thought is coming from - but I told her what the social worker in Lexington told us, that it was a similar facility and provides quality care. She has a tendency to worry about what might happen, I encouraged her to only look at how far she has come and work for today.
So...I guess encouragement is the word of the day! She needs lots of it and I am sure she's getting it with every conversation, hug and note from all of you.
Until later.....please continue keep her in your prayers.
