7:26

Wow,what a day. I arrived at the hospital at about 9 this morning. Mom had not had pain meds since 4. They were holding them expecting to send her to MRI soon. She had already had her pulmonary function. The next 7 hours were spent helping Mom reposition every minute or so. She was in so much pain she could not get comfortable. At about 1 the nurse finally gave her another shot which wore off in an hour. The MRI never happened, first someone had canceled it, then the doctor ordered the wrong test and had to cancel it, then it was rescheduled for 1:30 which came and went with no transport. At about 3:30 she was suppose to go across the street in a wheel chair to get the MRI. Three of us tried to get her in a chair and she ended up on the floor. This was the final straw for us. Not the nurses fault except they really had no clue at how helpless she was. About this time Cindy arrived, called the doctor and requested a transfer. So Mom will be moved to UK hospital and her doctor will now be a neurologist.

Off the meds, I saw a drastic difference in her abilities. She can move herself around much better just still can not lift her hips or pull herself up only roll most of her body to one side or another. If she bends her knees she can't hold them in place they just slide back down. She still is not eating or drinking. She has a lot of confusion about what has happened and what hasn't. Her hands and feet have numbness and a weird feeling like she is wearing shoes and holding something in her hands.

Cindy talked again to the doctor and he said the following:

They did both Lyme tests and both were negative. Which doesn't necessarily rule out Lyme disease. Also the Lyme test results had been there all along, at the back of her labs.

Muscle Enzyme tests were slightly elevated
AST slightly elevated (liver function)
Protein in Urine slightly elevated
Proteins in spinal tap mildly elevated
ADH is diluted (shouldn't be)
Cortisol elevated
Sodium low

He said Elizabethtown recommended an MRI of Kidneys

None of these elevations in themselves are an indicator, just something that says maybe they need to see why it is elevated.

She should end up with an MRI tomoorow

Keep praying
More tomorrow unless Cindy has some when she gets back

Love,
Deb
