I took Leandra, Andrew and Rebekah to see Mom for a little bit this afternoon. She was out on the patio with Bill. She was waiting for her meds as she had therapy at 2:30 and was anxious about taking them at least an hour before the therapy. The case worker Liz came by to talk about the conference they had. Evidently everyone meets to conference on her progress once a week. They said she was making progress but very slowly and had not met any goals yet. This upset Mom a bit. She also told Mom that depending on insurance she would only be in acute care about 35 days max. Then she would be moved to another location either home or subacute care, depending on her progress. Mom had expected to be out in 2-4 weeks from what some of the doctors and social worker in Lexington had said. Liz said it would be months and maybe even a year before she could expect recovery. Needless to say, this is all very depressing for Mom. She asked about exercises she could do on her own and Liz said she would talk to the therapist to get some ideas for her to do. That's about all for now, keep praying and call if you can.
