Thursday - noon update

We just returned from a visit with mom.  She is having a good day, she had some fruit, some tomato soup and is wanting us to bring her a taco when we return a bit later.  Dr. Nelson came by when we were there, he was quite pleased with her progress and told her this would be his last visit with her in the hospital, he will be off this rotation for awhile.  He said she is ready to be moved to rehab as soon as they can arrange a bed.  They are trying hard to get her into a rehab facility close to E-town, but most likely it will be Cardinal Hill in Lexington at this point unless a bed opens up closer to her house.
She will have some physical therapy again later today and has a trapeze over her bed now to get some strength back in her arms.  Dr. Nelson talked with her for quite awhile about her Dutch ancestry he had a big grin on his face the whole time they were talking and I think he was pretty impressed with her cognitive ability. I know it was fun for both of them to talk about their common heritage.
That's it for now, we told mom to make sure and leave a forwarding address in case they moved her before we returned today, she got a good chuckle out of that.  I know she is loving having all of us around, and pleased that Cindy will be back this evening and Beth, Jeff & Bill will be coming back next week.  It's great to have so many to share spending time with her.
Until later.....thank you for your prayers and messages.
Jeanne
