10:20 Wednesday Night

Whatever you do, do not play gin rummy with Mom! Okay just kidding, Mike played a hand tonight and Mom won again. Anyway, we relieved Pop at about 4. The therapists came in and worked with her a bit. They said that they would be working with her and would help determine when she would be released to rehab. Mom ate some soup tonight without help. She even held the bowl by herself.
Mom is done with the IV IGG med at well as the CMV meds. She is getting stronger every day and Jim said she had a fairly calm and comfortable day. This evening she was also relatively calm and comfortable except when she threatened to show Mike the door after he told her she needed to exercise her feet. The doctor has ordered a trapeze for arm exercises since she is getting stronger.
Pastor Pierce from Highlands Baptist Church in Lexington came by to visit Mom. She thinks the world of him and really enjoyed the visit. He prayed with her before he left and told her they have to have two people to do the work she had done at the church. She got a kick out of that.
There were no ants in her room but there was a bit of silver dust that she decided was from Sophie's fairies. Mike gave mom a rag to hold to help distract her from the funny feelings in her fingers which helped her a lot.

Hugs to all,
Deb

  1. I am sure that silver dust is much better than ants. I am so happy that Gramma is feeling better and would gladly show anyone the door if they told me I had to exercise my feet. You go girl! Love you Gramma.
