Just got home from a visit with Mom. She seemed in good spirits. She is worried about them sending her home. She wants to be able to use a walker first. It doesn't look like that is going to happen that soon. Although she does not have the pins and needles in her feet, they are still numb she says. Liz said they are looking at releasing her on the 15th of October. So she would either go home or to sub acute care. They finally found a combination that works for her digestion - prune juice and milk of magnesia. They will be working on her transitions from wheelchair to chairs and beds. She can move her legs around quite well now, although has to use her hands to lift them up to the bed when she is sitting on the edge. Otherwise she is making progress in all areas that they have goals for her. SHe shares the phone with her room mate, but remarked that she did not get any phone calls last night. I think she looks forward to the calls from "the kids" friends and family. That's it for now.

Silly girl....I talked to you last night when you were watching "Who's the Boss?". I'm working on getting you that Walmart phone too, then you can call whomever you want whenever you want. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHey Gramma! It was nice to see you smile the other day. Don't worry about how you come home. You will come home and will find it will be better than sitting in a hospital all the time. We love you.
