Well, it feels like we are going in circles with healthcare and insurance this week. It is frightening to think about people who do not have family or close friends to advocate for them with the medical profession and the insurance companies. We still do not have home health care in place for mom, nor do we have outpatient or at home rehab/physical therapy. No one is taking responsibility for her continued care after being booted from Kensington Manor - neither doctor wants to write orders for her needs beyond her prescriptions.
I will be on the phone again in the morning, talking with the insurance company, HHC, rehab facilities and doctors if necessary to get mom into the care she needs. Jim, Cindy and the kids are with Mom, Jim will be finished with work on Sunday for the winter, Debbie is filling in as needed, helping to run down the HHCare and Mom is hanging in there like a trooper. It is so important for her recovery that she is in a stress free environment, so that is the goal. Stress free, quality care, healthy food, rehab and rest. These are key to a good recover with GBS.
