The insurance company has decided that it is not medically necessary for Mom to be in the rehab facility and have denied insurance coverage for Kensington Manor. This makes no sense to any of us who have talked with the doctors and facility who claim that she does indeed need to be there. So, she is heading home today. While we scramble to get her the equipment and help that she needs at home, we would appreciate your prayers. Mom is understandably scared and I am sure Jim is as well. This is a huge step for them, and for all of us who will be providing the help she needs. At this time, Cindy will be providing alot of the care Mom needs Thursday evening through Sunday (she has children in school and lives an hour away). Jim will of course be providing care except for the days he works, she will have some home nursing care and Debbie will be filling in as she is needed as well. Once we determine a schedule and need, many of us will be taking a turn at staying with her. That's all I know for now, as soon as we know more the blog will be updated.
She is on her way home now, Debbie and Jim are with her and evidently Cindy is on her way. On another note, here are links to a video on YouTube from a GBS survivor...it is really helful (part 1 and part 2)

I smell a lawsuit.....is what I would say if I was one of those people..........wait, maybe I am..
ReplyDeleteThis may turn out to be a good thing for her, being home. The frustration of dealing with insurance, a brand new facility, the old facility and the doctors has made it difficult - but I believe in the end (hope and pray) that this will be the best for mom's recovery.
