I just got off the phone with mom....she sounded great. Cindy and the kids were there most of the weekend and they had a good time. She is feeling pretty good but has noticed that she is not doing as well as she was when she left rehab (with good reason). I told her not to worry, as soon as she starts rehab again tomorrow, she'll begin to make up for lost time. She has been doing home excercises every day to keep things moving and loose - but it is just not the same as being with a therapist who knows what they are doing.
Debbie will be meeting Mom and Jim at the doctor's office on Tuesday (neurologist) so she can be evaluated and find out what she is supposed to be doing from here on out. I think she has a long list of questions to ask the doctor - thankfully the appointment is supposed to be an hour long (at least that is what the receptionist said).
On another note, I am leaving next Saturday to spend a couple of weeks with mom. Selfishly, I am looking forward to just spending some one on one time with her & Jim and giving Debbie, Cindy and Jim a break by helping with her care. It will be great to see the Deb and Cindy's families as well!
Way to hang in there and work hard mom - you are in our thoughts and prayers.
