Columbus Day

Rachel and I and the girls went by to see Mom. She was in a lot of pain and had had a terrible night, but was looking forward to therapy in spite of it. We sat outside for a bit and she talked with Alexandra for awhile. Alexandra sat on her lap for a little bit then went and brought her some pinecones. She calls her "Gay Banya" for great gramma. Since she always sees her sitting in a wheelchair she says Gay Banya has an "owwee bootie" (bottom). As we were leaving she said "poor Banya owwee bootie" in the sweetist voice, it was just too cute. I will have to share that with Mom as she gets such a kick out of what the little ones say.

When we got home I returned a call to Kim at Kensington. She said Liz had called her and Mom was approved to stay at Health South the rest of the week and move to Kensington on Friday. Kim was still waiting for precertification, but did not seem to think it would be a problem. She asked what room preference and I told her a bed by the window and she siad great as there are plenty of empty new rooms. She will place her close to the Day Room and the Nurse's Station.

Keep those prayers coming! Hopefully all the pieces will fall into place for her move.

  1. It was great to see you again. I am sure that Alexandra will be ready to look at pine cones again soon. I am sure you look forward to your new place and eventually getting back home. Love you.
