Hi all,
I got off the phone with Moms Dr. about an hour ago, spoke with him for a good 1/2 hour. He is puzzled about what is going on with her also. He is waiting for the Neurology report as Mom told him that she saw the Neurologist but there were no notes in the chart. When I spoke with the Nurse last night at 10 pm the Neurologist had not been there so I think that mom was thinking that he came in. I asked if he had checked for Guillian Barre syndrome as Moms symptoms are spot on, he said if it is that the treatment they are giving her now is what they would be doing with that. She is not responding to the treatment as of yet. It is a process of elimination as he said, he said there are 40 different diseases with those symptoms and 1000 different viruses so it is taking time but all of her Vial organs at this point are fine, her liver, heart and kidneys are working fine. I asked him if this is life threatening and he said today it is not but I cannot tell you about tomarrow as it can change at any moment. He recieed the fax with all the tests from Elizabeth town today in his office and he will get those in the morning, Mom told him that she had an MRI in Etown but she didnt she only had a Cat Scan so I think he may order an MRI. He will talk to the Neurologist to see if they are dealing with some kind of Tumor in the brain and he will keep us posted. Beth is coming tomarrow and once I take Maureen to the airport n saturday then the kids and I and Debbie are heading to a hotel in Lexington to stay until Monday so that we can take turns being with her at the hospital. I am not sure what to make out of it when the Drs have no answers either! Well thats it for now. Jim is going to his office tomarrow around 11 so I will call and get an update from him after he gets to the hospital.
Thanks for this update Cindy and for talking to the doctor again. It helps that you and Deb have been able to get detailed information from her doctors.
